DASH is proud of the fact that to date, and to the best of our knowledge, no asylum seeker or refugee is sleeping rough on the streets of Huddersfield (verified by Salvation Army in 2018). Our understanding is that Huddersfield is the only town in the UK with a substantial community of this kind that has tackled the problem successfully. DASH owes the commitment of this aim to the vision of our founder and previous chair, Lucy Lucy.
DASH has use of some property, by arrangement, for destitute clients. If you would be interested in hosting asylum seekers – either a room in your house or use of a property – please see our Support Us page for more information.
